Who Is Ed Sheeran?

I have thousands of questions in my mind. Some are answerable by yes or no, some are too complicated to answer and some can only be answered by a single person. I don't know but I have this curiosity in me and a part of it comes from a specific person, Ed Sheeran. I know I'm supposed to mention a historical person but as my teacher have said, everyone is a part of history. Historical people are not only the ones we read in old books but the ones who give an impact to us, which we know are going to be remarkable, like how we remember people from different times.

            So...

I am just a simple fan girl from New York --- the city that never sleeps. My parents chose to stay here after I graduated elementary in the Philippines. I have been fan girling for two years now and I still haven't met my Edward Christopher Sheeran. It kind of sucks to think that I'm living in his favorite city in this world. See this?

Ugh. This is one of the reasons why my smile would turn upside down. Lots of his fans get to meet him personally. ED. ED. ED. We used to call him the "Ginger God" because he was too perfect for us. However, he describes himself as a chubby ginger who plays guitar, but to me he's the most perfect creation in this world.

It's the way his smile lights up the room. The way his smile spreads across his face and his eyes squint. The way his ginger hair sticks out in seven different directions.
The way he looks from wearing a suit to a hoodie.
How he would much rather prefer wearing a t-shirt than the expensive clothes.
The way his voice gives you chills from singing a ballad or an upbeat tune. The way his voice could change from a soothing sound to a growling noise.
The way he beats his guitars.
How he can look so dangerous and adorable at the same time.
His tattoos.
How he pulls out those funny faces.
His funny tweets.
The way he could make millions shut their mouths and listen to the songs of his life. The way he can make you love him without him knowing you. IT'S THE WAY ED IS.

Welcome to the fan girling world --- where someone you idolize becomes literally your entire world. I play his songs every day, I save lots of his pictures in our computer and I cr---WHAT? A meet and greet with him? I should go! This is my chance! It's in two days! Can you believe that? What should I wear? What will I tell him? How should I act in front of him?

So I woke up and was shivering like crazy because I was so freaking nervous on that day! I wore my Nike shoes because Ed likes sneakers. When my friend arrived at our house, we left on our way to see Ed! The venue was at Roseland Ballroom in NYC. I was surprisingly calm on our way or at least I am pretending to be...We were in front of the line and in a few moments, we went in, presented our ID, got a wristband, and the staff led us to the venue where Ed is. I could see a glimpse of him at the top of the stairs and I started to freak out because HE IS REAL! He was standing there with his hair looking super orange. His eyes were so blue, he was smiling, and he was wearing his maroon colored hoodie.

me: Hi Ed! (gives hug while continuously shaking)
Ed: hey love. What's your name?
me: I'm Yannah. (hands the present) I have a present for you. Hope you like it!
Ed: Is that a cat shirt?
me: Yes!
Ed: Aww cool I'm into cat shirts. (pulls out the shirt himself) Does that say INNIT?
me: (laughs) yeah!
Ed: Wow, this is incredible
me: Sure, it is. Uhmm, Ed? Can you sign on my arm?
Ed: Sure, darling. (signs on my arm) Here you go.
me: Thank you so much! Can I ask a few questions?
Ed: Of course you can
me: How does it feel that millions of people sing your praise?
Ed: Overwhelming, actually. I started with nothing to be honest. I used to perform in front of few people who obviously don't like my music and now, I can say I have gone so far in my journey as an artist.
me: I see. I've always been curious about this. What are your inspirations in your songs or should I say who?
Ed: You can actually use both what and who. For the romantic songs in my album, it's a special girl back in college. We used to be together for a long time but everything suddenly vanished.
me: Oh. I'm sorry for that.
Ed: No, it's okay. Making songs about her eases the pain I feel inside. Okay so for the other songs, I'm pretty sure each has an inspiration. I might say I have just written a song about a dead bird, about getting drunk or even about my manager who I used to hate.
me: (laughs) That is really random! Next, how did you manage to be so down to earth? I heard you never ignored your fans when they're asking you to take a picture with you or when they're just waving at you.
Ed: I just love my fans. I owe everything to them. None of this would've happened without them. The secret is that I'm not letting fame change who I really am. Even if I have the busiest schedule, I would wave back and give them the most endearing smile to thank them for their efforts just to see me.
me: That's so sweet of you! No doubt you have millions of fans out there! I have another question. So you are now really famous which means entering the Hollywood world. You are surrounded by paparazzis and issues that you sometimes don't know where it came from. How do you deal with those things?
Ed: It's pretty hard but I still act cool around the world I have entered to. I'm still myself. I just became famous. That's the only thing that changed in me. When it comes to issues or gossips, the most important thing is not minding them as long as you know they're just wrong information about you. But there are times when I just go with the flow and speak up honestly. But I tell you what, you can never avoid bashers. That is what showbiz is all about.
me: I got your point. So, I am from the Philippines. I have entered this group in Facebook called Official PH Sheerios and I would say the filipino Sheerios can't wait to see you there. Do you have any plans on having a concert?
Ed: Actually, I do. I've always wanted to visit the Philippines but I can't say I can go soon. In fact I'm currently working with my album and I've got some few gigs to attend to. But don't worry. I'll let you know.
me: Really? That'll be great! You have no idea how happy my fellow filipino Sheerios would feel when you share your God-given talent with them! Last question, Ed. What advice can you give me? I would take anything as an advice.
Ed: That's kind of...GENERAL. Hmmm...Let me start with problems...Don't drink too much alcohol unless you're a sober (laughs). If you're going through a serious matter, everything's gonna be okay at the end. If it's not okay, it's not yet the end. And... I can feel that you are a music lover. That's awesome! Express your feelings through music the way I do. It'll always make you feel better. Lastly, be a true heart not a follower.
me: I'll always remember those words, Ed. Thank you so much. It's been a privilege meeting you. I'm extremely happy now that you know I exist! Thank you for being my inspiration. Thank you for everything! I love you so, so much!
Ed: Same to you. Alright, goodbye!

MY HEART MELTED THE WHOLE TIME. Ed is such a genuinely nice person. I was there, talking to the person I admire the most. My mind was into him all the time. I got back downstairs and was walking and crying and hugging my friend. Every moment was perfect. What I fantasize suddenly turned into a reality. It was way more than I could ever ask for! IT'S THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE AND NOTHING WOULD EVER TOP THAT. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING ED SHEERAN, YOU ARE TRULY MY ONE AND ONLY. xx

Nueve Violaciones en CavSci

Promises were meant to be broken as rules were meant to be violated. Is that a YES or a NO? Breaking promises or violating rules, in my opinion cannot be avoided. One great example of this revolves in a huge institution, like schools. Of course, schools have these school policies to maintain peace, order, and proper actions inside the school premises. Now I have come up with 9 places or buildings in CavSci indicates the 9 violations being committed there. Each place represents the 9 circles of hell, from Dante Alighieri's epic poem, Inferno.

1ST STATION
As a reader, this will be the start of your journey. It all begins with the main entrance of the school --- THE GATE. Here, the late comers are the sinners. Students in CavSci are obliged to go to school on time but some students fail to do so. The Student Police, on the other hand, is the group of students assigned to take care of this kind of violation. They take the names of the late comers and sometimes, ask them to write a narrative indicating the reason why they came late.

2ND STATION
THE CANTEEN is the second station in the school.  After hours of classes, students crave for something they want to eat. Falling in such a long line isn't a big deal at all. The important thing is they get what they crave for. But their mistake is getting more than what they need. There is a tendency for them to be greedy and get so much full.

3RD STATION
THE GYM. This is the next station. This place is where the students showcase their talents, through pageants or other competitions, though some become so much competitive. The students in the big crowd goes wild. They scream at the top of their lungs and even say violent reactions which are unpleasant to hear. We all know shouting and making unnecessary noises are not allowed. Doing such means violating school policies.

4TH STATION
After the third station comes THE SCOUTING ROOMS. Students have their own roles, not just in school but also in their own country. Each and everyone of them are members of the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of the Philippines. They are expected to act like a real scout. Every year, they recite their promise and law yet they seem to break it. They do not realize how true the saying "Actions speak louder than words" is. It's considered a sin, for they failed to be true with the words they say.

5TH STATION
The fifth station is the largest of all. It's what we call THE FIELD. It's cleanliness must be maintained as always. However, students keep on littering. They keep on throwing their garbages instead of keeping them inside their bags, as if they're not the one who will suffer because of it. They keep on littering, so in return, they keep on cleaning their respective areas. It's an unending cycle.

6TH STATION
You are almost done with this short journey. The sixth station is THE H.E. ROOM. This is where the principal stays almost all the time. The principal minds her own private businesses here so students are not able to barge in suddenly. This is a sin, for doing such will show lack of respect.

7TH STATION
The seventh circle revolves around THE CLASSROOMS. Lots of violations are committed here. Those are vandalism, cheating while taking tests, and not paying attention to the teacher discussing before the students are some of the examples of it. If caught, the teacher is in charge of it. He/ she cannot just tolerate those kind of actions.

8TH STATION
The eight station is THE GUIDANCE CENTER. Darkness, shame, tears, emotional pain and regret; those are the what this station is all about. Students who are caught into a big trouble are brought here. The parents of the students and the teachers involved are here as well. They're here to know each and every detail of the problem and how they could deal with it or what could be the solution for it.

9TH STATION
The last station is THE OFFICE. Here, the students with the most number of offenses or committed the worst violation are being punished. How? It's probably by suspending them or in the worst case, they could be kicked out. Decisions are being made here. It sort of serves as the court of the whole school where the kind of punsihment the students should receive are thought of.

That'll be the end. Those are the 9 STATIONS and VIOLATIONS in CavSci. It's not my intention to mock or insult anybody. These are only my opinions. It should be looked at another perspective and that perspective is giving lessons and opening the eyes of each and every student in CavSci. This is to remind them that they entered this school bringing their own little dreams, together with the rules and regulations they promised not to violate.

Wanna talk? AJEJEJEJE XD

IS TEXTING RUINING YOUR KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE?

English had always been my second language. I can't say I know so much knowledge about it but instead, I can put it this way -- I am fluent in both speaking and writing in English. No wonder I can easily express myself in English like what I am doing at this moment. As we all know, language is associated with communication. We cannot communicate with people if languages don't exist. Nowadays, technology has been entrenched in the idea of this generation that the two are nearly inseparable. Technology enables us to do various things, including communicating with other people.

Most teenagers engage their selves in communicating through TEXTING. Almost all teenage population in this world, I guess, have their own cell phones and using it is always a part of their everyday lives except for me. Although I don't have my very own cellphone, I still can communicate with other people through some social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, etc. So for me, it's a big NO. Communicating with other people never ruined my knowledge about the English language and it never will.

Do you remember the time when most teenagers call themselves JEJEMON?...which used to grind my gears 'cause every word I see is an EYESORE! They usually type like this: Eow phowszx! I know it's not fully used in English language but still I think it affects a lot since some words in English are getting involved which means there is surely going to be wrong spelling, punctuation, capitalization and others. I think laziness is another reason for one's knowledge about the English language. I've noticed before that people usually do short cuts when they text. Letters which they think aren't necessary are being omitted, thus affects the way how they spell words. Sometimes, in most native speakers of the English language, they come up with informal contarctions like gonna, wanna, shoulda and many more. They get used to these things eventually so English language, is already basically ruined.

As I have said earlier, communicating never ruined my knowledge about the English language but...it does affects one thing. I OFTEN DON'T PUT PROPER PUNCTUATIONS! Not in chatting, tweeting, neither in posting statuses. Maybe I'm one of those lazy people but I have reason behind this. I also include emoticons when I chat for it adds more life to the conversations. Never it happened that I didn't put "XD"s and "LOL"s in my messages. WHY? It's just that communicating people using these social networking sites, in my opinion, couldn't be that formal but it depends on the people who you're talking with, of course. So in short, it doesn't fully ruin my knowledge about this second language of mine since I only talk t my friends and family most of the time.

What we should be all pointing out is that LANGUAGE is a system of communication which is very essential to us, humans. It should always be used properly for the sake of our knowledge in a specific language to be enriched, not ruined.

Three Words: FREE FROM STRESS!

Living a stressful life is not a joke. Once in a while, we should take a break from stress and simply make the most out of it while we have the time. For students like us who goes to a school which requires A LOT of effort in order not to fail exams and eventually survive, I think  we deserve having this semestral break, even for just a short period of time.

I honestly love having these kinds of short vacations. Well, who doesn't want having one? I felt super excited when I first heard that we'll have a ten-day semestral break because I simply need sleep. I was already planning the random stuffs I can do to spend my time aside from the school projects and home works.

During the first day of our semestral break, I started cleaning everything I consider a mess. (If that's the case, I'll probably clean my whole room.) So I fixed all my stuffs at home and unpacked my things so that my mom could wash my bag. I knew that it was the start of something WORTHY.

I only did few and simple things during our sembreak but no one has an idea how much happy I am during those days. Before our first semester ended, I got hooked with playing table tennis. I didn't know I was actually good at it. While I was cleaning our room, I found a new pair of rackets for table tennis! I knew my father and I could use our free time to play together. I also got a new haircut because I've been having the same kind for years already. At first I felt so upset because it doesn't look good on me but I was able to embrace this new look afterwards.

May I present you, the GOD OF THUNDER, THOR!
Basically, my life right now revolves around FAN GIRLING. People may say I get too crazy for my idols but I don't really mind as long as I'm enjoying what I do. Here goes my favorite singer Ed Sheeran and my all time favorite Marvel hero, Thor! I get pretty weird when I hear their name...I hyperventilate when I hear a news about them. Last October 29 and November 2, Ed had his concert at Madison Square Garden and of course, his fans were there to hear his heavenly-like voice while I was at home...crying over the live stream. At the same time, I was also fan girling about Thor. I did not stop unless I have bought merchandises like tumblers, USB, and magazines. I'm aware that it's kind of a waste of money but times like this only comes rarely. Thor's second movie finally came out and I can only say that IT'S MENTAL. This movie is way better the first one. I was crying and laughing at the same time and I had a hangover when I came home from the cinema.

But above all, the real purpose of semestral breaks for me is to have more time not just for myself, but also for my family. My aunt and his husband went home from London so we spent our time bonding, going to malls and have little talks. I truly appreciate having short vacations. See, I did not worry about projects at all not because I don't care about my grades but because I believe I have to enjoy this vacation. They only come for like, thrice a year so I definitely have to make the most out of it for after this, we'll get back to normal and face the long days and nights once again.

I Should've Known

I still remember the first time I had an idea what love was. I was alone, watching A Walk To Remember. It was the very first romantic movie that made me burst out into tears. I've realized how unconditional love could get. You would expect nothing in return. There are no conditions in love. For me, it doesn't require anything.  It makes impossible things, possible. Indeed, love conquers all. It opened my heart to the possibilities that love could change you who you are.

If falling in love means having butterflies in your stomach, blushing cheeks, sweaty palms...and other things that drive you crazy, then I can say I HAVE FALLEN IN LOVE. I may have my ideal boy but when cupid draws an arrow to you, you will throw that imaginary list. There's no expectation to meet anymore. Love is loving all the little things about that guy.

In my own words, love is staying up all night and spending it by talking to that special someone. It seems like all you want is to talk to him. It doesn't matter if you talk over nonsense stuffs because he makes you feel so comfortable. You don't have to be fake and pretend you're someone who you're not really because he appreciates the real you. He would always tell you you're pretty and that you're super talented. He's your number one fan. He supports you with whatever you have to do. I don't know. It's sort of unexplainable. You feel worry-free and safe knowing that you got him. And most of all, you feel contented and happy whenever you think of him. He is your inspiration. He gives you millions of reasons to smile even though life gives you thousands of reasons to frown.

Love is such a strong word that could make us the happiest person in the world yet it could also bring us so much pain. LOVE ISN'T ALWAYS ABOUT HAPPY ENDINGS. They said people are meant to fall in love with each other but are not meant to be together. It's unbelievable how a single person could take the biggest part of you. LOVE is feeling jealous or envy. LOVE is being happy even though the happy memories only exist in your mind. LOVE is smiling no matter how much you miss that person. LOVE causes you to feel like you are being punched against your chest. LOVE feels like you're a sunburn --- scarred and left.  LOVE is the force that makes you're world shattered down the floor in just a snap of a finger. LOVE is wishing you were a sober because all you want to do is to get drunk to feel a little love. LOVE is getting very desperate in bringing that special someone back but you really couldn't. LOVE is realizing that there's nothing left to do but to let go and move on with your life. But despite of all those pain you feel inside, LOVE is acting stupid but it isn't a big deal for you. LOVE is being ready to do anything because all you want is the happiness of that someone. Even if seeing him love someone else kills you, still, LOVE is being strong and happy for him. LOVE is knowing that you could not go back to the way it was before but still you accept it wholeheartedly. In short, LOVE is choosing his happiness over yours.

I don't really have to define what love is. Of course everyone knows what it is already. All I'm saying is that LOVE is not only about happiness. Pain and suffering is also a part of it and that every hello ends with a goodbye. If you love, you should expect to be hurt as well. These hurtful experiences didn't exist for us to suffer emotionally but to teach us something worth the pain. But then again, love is the most special thing in this world. No one deserves to cry, to be hurt and to be neglected for our main purpose in this world is to give love.

The Play of Destiny: Evils Fall; Heroes Rise

This story starts with the most fairest maiden of all, Juliet Capulet. She was the only daughter of a wealthy family in Verona who fell deeply in love with Romeo Montague, who came from a very poor family. They secretly meet every night under the light of the moon even though Juliet was already engaged to Brutus of Rome, Julius Caesar’s heir to the throne. Their never let their parents know about their relationship for the Capulets strongly believe that they have to protect their honor and dignity.

One day, Julius Caesar who came from a different kingdom, went to Verona in search for new knights to add to his troops. He wanted to take revenge on Macbeth for killing his brother. Even those who are not of royal blood were required to join. Since Romeo was one of the strongest in his village, he was chosen to be part of the alliance against the uprising tyranny of Macbeth. The night before Julius’ ships leave, Romeo sneaked into Juliet’s garden, just below her balcony. They exchanged vows and promised not to love another person beside themselves.

The next morning, the knights were assembled. In the most enormous ship stayed Julius Caesar, Brutus, Cassius, Mark Antony, Romeo, MONTAGUE, and the other knights of Verona. The ships sailed heading to the Dunsinane castle where the tyrant, Macbeth resides. On their third day, an unexpected storm came and destroyed their peaceful voyage. They ended up on a small island of fairies. They noticed that this island was destroyed and abandoned so they didn’t fear whatever the fairies have in store for them. Romeo, who was seeking for help, encountered a boy named Lysander. He was surprised to see a fairy named Puck behind the enigmatic boy. Romeo saw it in his eyes that the boy was suffering from grief. Lysander told Romeo about the tragedy that their kingdom experienced under the evil hands of Macbeth. Oberon, their king, ruled peacefully over that kingdom until Macbeth came to destroy everything they had. Oberon was assassinated and all the other residents were killed from the forest fire except Hermia, who was held captive. Also, Lysander and Puck survived because Macbeth’s troops missed them.  Lysander suddenly felt enraged and wanted to take revenge on Macbeth. Romeo revealed that the purpose of their voyage was to also take revenge on Macbeth for killing Julius Caesar’s brother, Duncan.

And so Lysander joined the troops with the permission of Julius after narrating the story behind the destroyed kingdom. However, they have a big problem: the ships were totally wrecked. Puck had an idea. He used his abilities to repair and restore the broken ships. The ships sailed immediately to finally end Macbeth’s evil reign.

Meanwhile, Macbeth and Prospero, the thane of Cawdor conversed. Macbeth asked about the planned ship wreck. On the other hand, Prospero was capable of supernatural abilities because of Ariel, his powerful servant spirit. He eagerly informed Macbeth that he was successful in causing the storm for the ships wreck. Suddenly, Prospero thought out of the blue. He asked, “Your highness, what is the purpose of all these destructions?” Macbeth answered, “Duncan took my twin and mother away from me. My father died of grief after. When I grew up, I became the thane of Glamis, and followed every order King Duncan commands. One day, a battle between this kingdom and the Norwegians emerged. After the Norwegians have been defeated, I encountered three witches who told me of some prophecies. They foresaw that I will become the thane of Cawdor and eventually become the king. Even before I could go back to the castle, Lennox and Ross, the noblemen told me that the current thane of Cawdor fought for the Norwegians instead and that I will become the thane of Cawdor. I told my wife, Lady Macbeth about it and without a second thought, she convinced me to kill Duncan and so I did. I poured poison in his ear, without anybody knowing except me and my wife.

Fortunately, no one knew who the killer was. I became the king afterwards. I was successful and so I did not waste any time. I destroyed Oberon’s kingdom in search of my twin and MOTHER, but they weren’t there. Now, people have turned their backs on me. No one would support me nor follow every command of mine.”

Even before Julius Caesar’s ships arrive, Puck placed an enchantment on their ship to make them invisible. When they got there, Puck flew away, heading to the castle immediately. He went to the sleeping Hamlet, Macbeth’s son, and poured love’s potion on his eyes. The first person he’ll see when he wakes up will be the apple of his eye. Then he left in search of Hermia. He found her sleeping on one of the cells, alone. He woke her up and told her about his plan. The plan was to make Hamlet fall in love with Hermia and make him betray his own father. Even though Hermia truly love Lysander, she still agreed to Puck’s plan. After narrating his plan, Puck went back to Lysander and the troops. He also told them the plan but Lysander didn’t agree.

Meanwhile, Hermia’s cell was next to Hamlet’s room so she decided to make a noise to wake Hamlet up and get his attention. Hamlet woke up and the first person he saw was Hermia and he immediately fell in love with her. He confessed his love and Hermia took advantage of the moment. Then she uttered these words “My dear Hamlet if you truly love me, deny thy father and refuse thy name” and Hamlet said “I take thee at thy word. Call me but love, and I’ll be new baptized. Henceforth I never will be Hamlet.”  Instantly, Hamlet opened her cell. They went back to the shore of Scotland to open the gates for Julius Caesar and his knights. They started invading the kingdom and some people prepared to set the castle on fire. Knights versus knights, slaves versus slaves, and the officials went for Macbeth’s head but Prospero and Macbeth’s knights went on their way. Only Julius was able to reach Macbeth. Julius and Macbeth finally had the chance to face each other --- without any help from any other knights. Macbeth knew that that moment would come so he prepared a poisoned sword for him. The fight started and Julius earned the first hit. Then Macbeth said, “What did your brother do to my twin and my mother?” “I have nothing to do with them. My only concern is my brother. How could you kill a man so noble and kind?” said Julius. “LIES! Your brother ruined my family and now you’re ruining my castle?” Macbeth shouted, ready to strike Julius again. Julius then earned a huge wound from this attack and caused both men to drop their own swords. Meanwhile, the castle started burning down.

Not knowing which is which, Julius accidentally took the poisoned sword and got stabbed Macbeth this time. Before Macbeth fell dead, he realized that Julius took his poisoned sword.  Julius, not satisfied with this, decapitated Macbeth. Meanwhile, Julius’ men were winning over Macbeth’s followers. When everyone saw Julius carrying Macbeth’s head, they finished the bloody war and started leaving before the castle burry them all alive.  Julius, on the other hand, felt weaker and weaker. Not long after, he fell dead while the other officials including Brutus, Cassius, Mark Antony died as well.

The knights hurried back to their ships and Puck undid the spell under Hamlet. He was the only man standing after the ships had left him.

On their way back to Rome, the knights decided to make Montague their king after Julius Caesar and everyone else died. Montague, knowing that there was treaty between the Capulets and Julius Caesar decided Romeo to marry “Capulet’s niece who looks exactly like Juliet”. Romeo strongly disagreed upon hearing this for he knows Juliet is still waiting for him but at the end, he knew he can do nothing about it for Montague told him Juliet was already married.

When the day of the wedding came, Romeo was still in deep melancholy. He knew that by this, he would be breaking his promise. The Romans warmly welcomed the Capulets. Everyone was celebrating for Romeo and the mysterious girl are being wed together with Hermia and Lysander.

At the altar, Romeo was secretly hoping that he isn’t supposed to marry a woman besides Juliet. The door finally opened for his bride to come forth. His heart was pounding as this lady walked down the aisle. When he was finally face to face with her, he felt some kind of connection. He lifted her veil and discovered that he already know the woman. She was the one he have always wanted to marry.

Heroes of Our Time

I can still remember the first ever post I made about the person whom you consider your hero. I chose my mom, for she guides me, teaches me and loves me more than I'll ever know. But then I realized there are still lots of people whom we can consider our heroes --- our second parents, our TEACHERS.

Basically, when we think of it, a teacher is someone who provides education to the students. Come to think of it, how hard is it being a teacher? Unquestionably DIFFICULT. It is not just an easy profession to take. First of all, I think it's because you'd put a massive effort and time just to do your job when you are not that well-paid by the government. It's true especially when a teacher works in a public school. But what makes it really difficult is all the stress and pressure not only because of the hard-headed students (most of the time) but perhaps because of just simply being a teacher. I've been studying for eleven years now and I've always appreciated the teachers who became part of my journey to success. I truly appreciate how patient and understanding they are when it comes to educating students, like me.

To the world they may be just a teacher but to a student like me, TEACHERS ARE THE HEROES OF OUR TIME.  They are our second parents who are ready to lead and guide us in the right way, no matter how hard situations could be. They are here to influence people, not to be influenced by the world. They do not only teach lessons from the books but they also share what lessons they have learned throughout their experience in their whole life just to inspire us. To encourage is one of the great things a great teacher could do.  They may not have the powers to save the whole world but instead, they can save OUR WORLDS. They treat us as if we are their own children. I salute them for their passion and commitment to mold the minds and personalities of young people. And most of all,  I salute my teachers for consuming themselves just to teach us the right things to be successful in life. Without them, there are no professionals who would exist today. So to every teacher out there, I greet you a happy happy teachers' day!

MA'AM, HERE'S A LITTLE SOMETHING FOR YOU:

            Dear Ma'am May,

Happy Teachers' Day! I'm sorry if this is quite late but I still hope you'll appreciate this short message for you.

First of all, I want to say sorry for disappointing you and for making you expect the best from me. I failed so many times but you were still there to guide me whatever happens. You have seen me through my ups and downs and you understood me when not even my own family could understand. You don't have an idea how much grateful I am to have you as a teacher and as a special friend. I still remember one of our English class when you said we can count on you if we were currently facing a problem. I secretly cried for I had a big problem that time. I was too shy to share whatever my problem was but instead, I faced it on my own because knowing that someone could still understand my mistakes is worth the strength for. You are a blessing to me, ma'am. No doubt you are loved by many. I would also like to thank you for bringing out the best in me. You gave me the chance to be a leader, a singer, a dancer and a better individual. They said a teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops. I know you've been a great teacher to my sisters and I guess that's why they are who they are not only because of my parents but also because of you. Experience is the best teacher but having you as my teacher is the best experience.  Thank you again for everything and I love you Ma'am!

Reality Check

MACBETH --- another masterpiece by William Shakespeare. It is considered to be the darkest and most powerful tragedy. For those who doesn't know, let me tell what it's about briefly. It  tells the story of a man who let his greed for power take over himself, eventually dethrones the king's position by killing him and everyone who he thinks a potential threat to his power. Macbeth was a very brave, good and noble at the beginning  but once the three witches revealed their prophecy about Macbeth being the king of Scotland in the future, he then started to do such merciless crimes.

The play started with the conversion of the three witches (Act I, Scene I) where they talked about their plan of talking to Macbeth and mentioned the words "FAIR IS FOUL AND FOUL IS FAIR" afterwards. Seven simple words yet it could sound enigmatic. However, I still came up with some simple words to explain what this means which is what appears to be good is bad and what appears to be bad is good.

"FAIR IS FOUL" - Things are not always what they seem. People are not always who they seem. When Macbeth and Banquo first encountered the witches, they described them as withered-looking and crazily dressed.  But after Macbeth has heard their prophecies, he considered them "fair" just because of the pleasant things they have said, without them realizing that in reality, the intentions of saying such is something that is a "foul". In my opinion, some things would only appear to us like an illusion. We have to understand them first, not to think that seeing is believing but is also deceiving. Let us put it this way: the prophecies are revealed for Macbeth to understand them as riddles but not to be taken literally. It served only to suggest what awaits him in the future, not to affect it. The three witches predicted that Macbeth will become king, but not kill the king. He may seem such a great man at the start, but nobody expected that he'll go against the king. Although these are brief and absurd prophecies by the three witches, it still affected Macbeth's life by turning his life upside down.

"FOUL IS FAIR" - Perhaps the last move by the English people is what gave justice to Duncan's death and even Macduff's family. What Macbeth did was such an unforgivable act. It took the lives out of somebody's loved ones. At the end, revenge prevailed. It may seem bad to the eyes of some people but it definitely has to be done. Macbeth deserves to die, for he has done things a person shouldn't do. It's legitimate. It is for Macbeth to pay for murdering people who has done good deeds to him.

Once again, "FAIR IS FOUL AND FOUL IS FAIR" --- a lesson which I can surely keep in my life. For me, it could simply teach me not to judge a book by its cover. Admit it, we already have judged a person by his/her appearance and most of the time, we do it with the person whom we doesn't know the story of. People have their own stories behind their appearance, smiles and tears. One word and you'll never know how much you can hurt a person. Also, make your eyes wide open. Sometimes, seeing is deceiving, dreaming is believing. Do reality checks. Seek for the truth. Again, things are not always what they seem. Don't let evil thoughts take over your mind and heart. Always think before you act for you will never know what would be the result in the end. I may sound I am going so far from the main point of what I was saying at the start but I believe those seven words are our key to some lessons we can use in REALITY.
